Our New Home

We are now residents of the state of Utah. I never thought those words would come out of my mouth. Our drive up from Arizona took two days with a stop in Vegas to sleep for the night and 3 stops the next day to keep Emma from going crazy in the car. We left Wednesday at 7:30 pm and arrived at our destination at 4:30 pm on Thursday. We are temporarily staying with my parents, and we have the whole downstairs so there is plenty of room. We have been enjoying a little family reunion with all of my family in town, which is harder to do since some of my family lives in Florida. The last time we all got together was 2008 so it has been a fun time. The temperature is a huge change then what we are used to. Most days we are lucky if the temperature makes it to 80 degrees! I am loving it, but I am sure I will be hating it when winter hits. I miss my Arizona friends, and I wish I was going to be there to see their new bundles of joy that will be arriving soon. I will do my best to keep everyone updated.

Here we are in front of our temporary home. Take note that we are wearing jackets. CRAZY

This is the beautiful view we have from the back deck.

My BIRTHDAY!

The flowers I woke up to from the best husband in the world. Yes, I went mushy on everyone.

Emma and I went to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts where she experience her first doughnut. They give you a free dozen glazed for your birthday.

The card on the left is from Emma and the card on the right is from Steve. The inside of Steve's card said, "It's your present." Hi-lar... the perfect card for us poor peeps. The pic below shows the inside of the card Emma got me.

The birthday card Steve helped Emma pick out and sign for me. Look on the left side of the card. She scribbled on it and Steve wrote under it, "this means Love Emma." It made me tear up.

Here are some pictures of the block that I made for Emma. It took me a couple of weeks because I hand sewed EVERYTHING on it, and I only worked on it at night. I did not work on it every night, hence it took a couple of week. I am quite proud of it if I do say so myself.

I used a stencil to draw the numbers and letters

Here are all the squares sewn together. I put things on the block that she could pull at and play with. There are numbers, letters, fuzzy balls, buttons and a flower, a lady bug, and some pictures for her to look at.

For the ladybug I used small treat bags to stuff inside for the crinkly sound, and the antennas are made from pipe wire. I drew the dots on with a marker.

Small to Big

So again, it has taken me forever to update my blog. As you can tell by the pictures starting from below to top she has grown quite a bit. She is now 10 months old and WALKING! I love hanging out with her. She likes to walk around holding pieces of clothing she may find around the house. It is the cutest thing to watch. She is my little shadow, and I love it! Steve wants to get started on our next one. If he had his way we would have 6 kids, which cracks me up just thinking about it. Steve is doing well in school as usual. He is taking 16 units this semester and will graduate Summa Cum Laude in May if he makes straight A's this semester; so far so good. I am looking forward to Emma's first birthday and metal notes of what I want to do for it. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Emma's first time at the San Diego petting Zoo. She loves Animals. The Hawkins' family dog (Jetta) knows this.

Her first experience with sand at the beach. Oh how we miss the beach.

A-DOR-A-BLE, need I say more?

Finally an update

Emma is growing up so fast. She is 5 1/2 months and working on her crawling skills. She keeps life busy and fun. She loves grabbing her feet and sucking on her big toe. When she is on her tummy she turns in circles and scoots backward. She squeals when Steve comes home from school because she knows it is playtime with dad. He loves to toss her on the bed and tickle her. Her newest sound is DA DA so if she is fussing and saying da da I tell Steve to go take care of her because she is calling for him:). It is so cute to hear her babble, and just watch her play. Here are some pictures of her from 15 weeks to present going from top to bottom. ENJOY!

Emma and Tanner. He was born 3 days after Emma, but he is a lot bigger.

Emma and her cousin Lexi who is 3 weeks younger then her. (Sorry it's sideways)

Emma and Grandpa Hawkins. He loves playing with her.

Bath time is always fun. We are so glad she loves her bath.

Play Time - Poop then Ring

Emma likes to eat her hands, and it is the cutest thing to watch when she is laying in her pink play gym. You will understand the title when you watch the video and hear the conversation Steve had with her.

Rash

Okay so I broke out into a rash from taking the lame mini pill. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is the birth control they give you to take while breastfeeding. I'm so done with it. Here is a pic of how it looked before it spread all over my body.
